“Beneath the Layers” is a surreal mixed‑media portrait exploring the moment when the self begins to soften and the masks we’ve worn start to dissolve. The figure appears to melt into fluid, abstract shapes, symbolizing the release of ego, expectation, and the identities we outgrow. Her expression carries a quiet ache — not of sadness, but of deep emotional release — as if she is shedding years of weight in a single exhale.

Gold accents and delicate details echo the beauty found in vulnerability, while the butterfly suggests rebirth and the courage it takes to transform. The textures shift from solid to liquid, inviting viewers to feel the tension between holding on and letting go.

This piece is meant to evoke introspection, tenderness, and the raw, luminous feeling of becoming who you truly are beneath all the layers.
